Join our team and discover why we are a top veteran employer ( and Certified Great Place to Work ( ASRC Federal Communications is seeking a Temporary Electrician for our ISS2 contract supporting our Air Force customer. This position is located at Eareckson Air Station (EAS). This is a rotational position in which the selected employee will work a schedule with 3 months on shift at a time, 1 month off, at Eareckson Air Station (EAS), located in Shemya, AK. While working on-site, housing is provided in the form of a dormitory facility. All meals are furnished through the cafeteria. Transportation to EAS from Anchorage, AK, is provided by government-sponsored aircraft. This is a negotiated union position. This Temporary position will last for one 3-month rotation. **Position Summary** Provide installation, alteration, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment within the electrical construction industry. Will be working with power generation and large area power distribution. **Essential Duties & Job Functions** + Responsible for installation and construction with some maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment + Knowledge of the proper use of standard wire, conduit, fittings, and hardware commonly found in industrial plants. + Read and understand conduit drawings, schematics, drawings, and specifications. + Responsible for use and care of the tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial construction, including but not limited to: + hydraulic/electric benders, + Knockout Punch sets, + cable puller, meggers, + hi-pot equipment, + volt meters, + multi-testers + ammeter + Able to set and coordinate over-current protective devices, size feeder circuits, and have a basic understanding to work on systems across the island. **Basic Qualifications** + High school diploma or GED + Valid Journeyman Electrician's License + Ability to perform associated mathematical calculations. + Knowledge of principles and practices of safety management + Strong MS Office and other computer skills + Knowledge of pertinent local, state, and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules + Ability to speak, write, and read English. + Must have a state driver's license and an acceptable record. + Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening. + Candidates must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance We invest in the lives of our employees, both in and out of the workplace, by providing competitive pay and benefits packages.
