We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Materials Supervisor to join our team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional with a strong background in materials management and supervisory experience. As a Permanent Materials Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in managing the materials and resources necessary for our operations. You will be responsible for overseeing the shipping and receiving of materials, conducting cycle counts, and supervising the handling of substation equipment. This position offers relocation assistance for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Materials Supervisor, you will:
1. Oversee the daily operations of the materials department, including shipping and receiving, inventory control, and material handling.
2. Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and implement corrective actions as necessary.
3. Supervise the handling, storage, and maintenance of substation equipment.
4. Collaborate with other departments to forecast material needs and ensure the availability of necessary resources.
5. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
6. Train, supervise, and evaluate materials department staff.
7. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
8. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
9. Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to materials management.
10. Prepare and present regular reports on department performance.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Permanent Materials Supervisor position, you must have:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management, including shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
2. Prior experience with substation equipment is a must.
3. Proven supervisory experience, with a track record of leading high-performing teams.
4. Strong knowledge of cycle count processes and inventory control techniques.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
7. Proficiency in using inventory management software and other related tools.
8. A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
