Saddlehill's Harvest Crew Program

Program Overview:

Saddlehill Winery and Farm-to-Table Restaurant invites community members to participate in our "Harvest Crew" program. This initiative offers individuals the opportunity to earn income by harvesting crops on our farm. We provide the land, crops, and direction, and you get paid per pound of harvested produce in addition to the state minimum rate of $13.40 per hour for agricultural workers

To provide a straightforward and accessible opportunity for community members to earn income through seasonal harvesting, while ensuring a consistent supply of fresh produce for Saddlehill's farm-to-table kitchen. .

Program Description:

• Harvesting Opportunities:
  • Participants will work under the direction of Saddlehill's farmers to harvest designated crops.
  • Harvesting will occur during peak season, with schedules determined by crop maturity.
  • Participants will be paid per pound of harvested produce, with pre-determined rates for each crop.
• Requirements:
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry harvested produce.
  • Reliable transportation to and from Saddlehill Farm.
  • Adherence to Saddlehill's harvesting guidelines.

Operational Details:

• Harvesting Schedule:
  • Harvest schedules will be posted and communicated to participants in advance.

• Payment:
  • Participants will be paid according to the weight of their harvested produce.in addition to the state minimum hourly rate for agricultural workers
  • Payment rates will be clearly communicated for each crop.
  • Payment will be processed on a regular schedule.
• Harvesting Procedures:
  • Participants will receive training on proper harvesting techniques.
  • Harvested produce will be weighed and inspected by Saddlehill staff.
  • Quality standards must be met for payment.
