Tawney, Acosta & Chaparro PC is a personal injury law firm who offers aggressive, competent representation to our clients and has offices in Albuquerque NM, El Paso TX, Las Cruces NM and Carlsbad NM. We are looking for an experienced and passionate legal assistant to join our team in our Albuquerque office, someone to help us maintain our high standard of providing unparalleled service to our clients and build a working relationship with our attorneys, staff and clients. The ideal candidate is bilingual, has impeccable organizational skills, is meticulous in starting and completing tasks and can work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Screen, direct and prioritize incoming telephone calls to attorneys.
• Communicate with clients, witnesses, court clerks, legal counsel and their staff.
• Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining attorney calendars, making copies, compiling complex documentation and enhancing office effectiveness.
• Draft, proofread, and file or send legal documents at attorneys’ discretion, such as motions, pleadings or correspondence
• Ability to lead litigation staff team in working together to complete trial deadlines and tasks.
• Administrative support in trials by preparing and organizing exhibits, assisting with other trial tasks as needed.
• Conduct investigations and statistical/documentary research for cases.
• Manage time efficiently.

Requirements:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish (read, write, speak).
• Type 50+ words per minute with accuracy.
• Organizational skills with the steadfast ability to calendar and adhere to deadlines and showcase ability to consistently meet deadlines.
• At least one (1) year of previous law office experience preferably experienced in personal injury law.
