Position Title: Senior Manager of Global Communications

Position Classification: Regular; Exempt; Full-Time; 40 hours/Week if based in the US

Reports to: Managing Director, Marketing and Communications

Location: We are open to candidates based in the U.S. (up to 30% domestic and/or international travel). Please note that we do not sponsor U.S. work authorization for this role. Candidates must be able to legally work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Position Overview: The Senior Manager of Global Communications oversees key strategic initiatives to strengthen Partners In Health’s (PIH) global marketing and communications capacity. As an integral member of the Marketing and Communications (MarComms) team, the Senior Manager is responsible for cross-site communication and knowledge sharing, including building and managing a centralized resource library. They will also lead in establishing a communications fellowship program (strategy development, implementation, and evaluation) with an emphasis on empowering local leaders.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership (50%)
  • Act as the primary MarComms point person for local site communication teams, providing strategic guidance or connecting to a subject matter expert as needed. May include working in country to accompany local site leadership and communication staff.
  • Ensure alignment across all teams with global resource generation goals and plans, as well as brand standards.
  • Develop and implement a structured fellowship program to train, mentor, and empower global marketing and communications professionals at the care delivery sites.
  • Resource Management (35%)
  • Conceptualize, develop, and maintain a comprehensive digital resource library to support building capacity and skills of the global communications team.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to curate materials such as trainings, hiring and onboarding guides, templates, and other professional development resources.
  • Establish and enforce protocols for updating and organizing library content to keep resources relevant and effective.
  • Regularly communicate updates and changes to the library to ensure its accessibility and usefulness.
  • Global Communications (15%)
  • Develop strong productive relationships with site-based colleagues to identify core challenges to local communications strategy.
  • Ensure smooth operations, including activities, processes, and systems to produce and deliver global communications.
  • Train global teams to use training platform(s), working with the PIH training team as needed.
  • Stay current with global communication trends and best practices to keep PIH at the forefront of innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, education, or relevant field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5-8 years’ experience in global communications, with experience in nongovernmental or international organizations strongly desired.
  • Proven experience in building resource libraries or content management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability managing complexity and prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work productively in highly collaborative settings while also functioning independently.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required; knowledge of additional languages such as Spanish, French, or Haitian Creole is considered an asset.

Pay and Benefits: For U.S.-based candidates, the starting salary range is $85,000-$95,000/year, depending on experience and market factors. The position belongs to a salary range of $80,000-$95,000/year. Benefits include a 401(k) with employer match, medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, paid time off, holidays, and additional leave during the holiday season and July 4th.
