Onset Financial of Draper, UT is seeking to hire a talented Product Owner to play a critical role in our success by ensuring that our programming vision continues to evolve and grow. You will play a critical role in defining the product vision and aligning it with Onset's business goals and strategies, while collaborating with our executive leadership and cross-functional developer teams to execute product plans that make a difference company wide. Your Responsibilities will be:

  • Create, prioritize, and maintain a detailed product backlog.
  • Write clear and actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure the backlog reflects the most valuable and feasible features.
  • Translate high-level business needs into detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, and other team members to refine and clarify requirements.
  • Lead sprint planning sessions to define the scope of each iteration.
  • Continuously refine the backlog and ensure readiness for upcoming sprints.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospective while acting as a bridge between the development team and Executive Leadership, ensuring that decisions are timely.
  • Through frequent releases, ensure that the product delivers value, quality, and maintainability.
  • Use data to make informed decisions about future iterations and improvements, while aligning efforts with budget constraints and resource availability.
  • Identify potential risks and dependencies early in the process and work proactively to mitigate.
  • Clearly articulate requirements, priorities, and updates while fostering collaborative and transparent communication opportunities.
  • Uphold high ethical standards while promoting our company culture of integrity and success.
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and other company events.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure the team stays aligned with the product vision.

What you need to succeed:

  • 3 years in a Product Owner, Product Manager, or related role.
  • Proven track record of managing the end-to-end lifecycle of software products.
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, SAFe). CSPO preferred.
  • Familiarity with software development processes and tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).
  • Basic technical knowledge of the underlying technology stack for the product.
  • A passion for problem-solving and identifying solutions.
  • Detail-oriented mindset combined with a big-picture perspective.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with tactical execution.
  • The ability to take and implement feedback
