Our team is growing, and we are looking for a Legal Assistant to provide administrative and clerical support to our legal team, helping ensure smooth and efficient operations in a fast-paced legal environment.
Job Summary:
The Legal Assistant plays a key role in supporting attorneys and legal staff through document preparation, client communication, case management, and research assistance. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and familiar with legal procedures and terminology, with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and contracts.
Organize and maintain legal files, both digital and physical, ensuring all documentation is current and accurate.
Schedule appointments, court dates, meetings, and manage attorney calendars.
File documents with courts and government agencies in accordance with legal procedures.
Conduct legal research and gather relevant case materials as needed.
Assist with client intake, communication, and follow-up under attorney supervision.
Coordinate with other departments to support case preparation and documentation.
Track deadlines and ensure compliance with legal timelines and procedures.
Qualifications:
Experience: 2+ years of experience in a legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal role.
Education: High school diploma required; associate’s degree or certification in legal studies or paralegal training preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software (e.g., Clio, My case, or similar).
Knowledge: Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and legal documentation standards.
Soft Skills: Excellent organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
