C.A.S.E. set out in 2021 on a new strategic direction to grow our clinical and training programs into a National Demonstration & Teaching Clinic - now known as the C.A.S.E. Academy, and the National Center for Adoption Competent Mental Health Services. It is an exciting time as we grow our evidence-based adoption-competent clinical model and our accredited, award-winning training programs nationwide. C.A.S.E has an annual budget of $14M and a staff of 70+ employees.

About the Position:

The IT Manager will lead and evolve C.A.S.E.'s technology operations into a strategic, mission-aligned function. This role is responsible for implementing IT strategies that drive operational efficiency, innovation, and long-term scalability. The IT Manager will oversee day-to-day IT operations, guide the adoption of a lightweight IT Service Management (ITSM) framework, and collaborate with organizational leadership to ensure technology supports program delivery, security, and staff productivity.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on technology leader who is just as comfortable rolling up their sleeves to troubleshoot an issue as they are shaping strategy or advising leadership. They bring practical experience with cloud-based platforms, ITSM best practices, and thrive in environments that require both agility and cross-functional collaboration—particularly within mission-driven or nonprofit settings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership and hands-on, day-to-day management of C.A.S.E.'s IT operations, serving as head of the internal IT function and ensuring both oversight and direct support where needed.
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing refinement of C.A.S.E.'s IT strategy in alignment with organizational goals and mission delivery.
  • Collaborate with the IT Steering Committee to evaluate and prioritize technology initiatives, approve budgets, and ensure cross-departmental alignment.
  • Deploy and manage a lightweight, cloud-based IT Service Management (ITSM) platform to support incidents, requests, and change management processes.
  • Develop and implement adaptive IT governance practices that balance innovation, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain and evolve a centralized IT Product and Service Catalog to promote self-service and enablement.
  • Oversee the organization's Microsoft 365 and Azure-based cloud infrastructure, including tools such as Intune, Purview, and the Admin Center for security, monitoring, and compliance.
  • Lead the evaluation, acquisition, and implementation of a unified CRM platform, ensuring integration with donors, training, and clinical systems.
  • Consolidate and streamline systems by retiring redundant tools and standardizing collaboration platforms across departments.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies, assign stewardship roles, and ensure secure, HIPAA-compliant use of organizational and constituent data.
  • Monitor and improve IT service performance using tools like Power BI, Microsoft 365 usage analytics, and user feedback.
  • Conduct regular inventories of hardware, software, and cloud licenses, identifying cost-saving and optimization opportunities.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, SLA oversight, and procurement aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Facilitate end-user enablement through role-based onboarding, training, and digital literacy programs—particularly for SharePoint, Teams, and AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including SOPs, knowledge bases, and training resources.
  • Establish and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans using Microsoft 365 and Azure-native capabilities.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation and workflow optimization through Power Platform and other low-code/no-code tools.
  • Communicate IT project status, risks, and updates clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and user-centered design within the IT function.
  • Ability to present technical strategies and performance metrics to executive leadership and contribute to board-level or grant-related technology planning.
  • Identify and propose emerging technologies, tools, or practices (e.g., AI, automation, cybersecurity innovations) that could advance IT Operations through pilot programs or use case exploration.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Attends and actively participates a variety of internal and/or external meetings, committees, and/or events which may not be job related, but are related to the agency's clients, mission, and/or its employees, such as but not limited to, All Staff Meetings, employee annual and or ad-hoc benefits meetings, agency galas, etc.

2. Adheres to C.A.S.E. core values.

3. Supports the program's operational philosophy, goals, and objectives congruent with the mission, values, vision and strategic direction of C.A.S.E.

4. Support the establishment and formalization of the IT Steering Committee, including development of governance procedures, meeting cadences, and role definitions.

5. Facilitate and lead technical vendor and partner evaluations, serving as a technical advisor to ensure alignment with C.A.S.E.

6. Lead procurement activities including drafting requirements, obtaining multiple quotes, evaluating cost and functionality tradeoffs, and guiding the organization through tool selection and purchasing decisions.

7. Assist in defining technology-related policies and internal standards (e.g., acceptable use, remote access, data classification).

8. Provide coaching and mentorship to internal staff and stakeholders on best practices in digital operations, including change management and responsible AI use.

9. Collaborate with HR and department leads to incorporate technology onboarding into employee orientation processes.

10. Lead or participate in internal IT planning workshops, cross-functional working sessions, and learning events.

11. Stay informed on nonprofit technology trends and regulatory shifts (e.g., HIPAA, data privacy) and provide recommendations to leadership as needed.

12. Support the budgeting, justification, and reporting of technology expenditures, especially in alignment with grants and funder expectation.

13. Ensure digital platforms and tools are implemented with accessibility in mind, supporting equitable user experiences across staff and client-facing systems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • 7-10 years of progressive IT management experience, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Professional Management certifications such as PMP, or equivalent is preferred.
  • ITIL Foundation certification (or higher) required to demonstrate understanding of IT Service Management principles and best practices.
  • Relevant security certifications strongly preferred, such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+, to ensure proficiency in managing risk, compliance, and security frameworks.
  • Microsoft cloud certifications such as MS-900 (Microsoft 365 Fundamentals) and AZ-900 (Azure Fundamentals) are preferred, indicating foundational knowledge of modern cloud platforms and administration.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated experience with cloud-based technologies and IT Service Management frameworks.
  • Proven track record of successfully supporting IT governance and system integration initiatives.
  • Knowledge of data governance, cybersecurity best practices, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at the executive level.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • A strong commitment to customer service and operational excellence.
  • Experience working with or supporting cloud-first environments and SaaS solutions.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint Online and Teams for collaboration, document management, and internal communication; ability to support site maintenance, permissions, and user adoption across the organization.
  • Familiarity with cloud architecture best practices, such as Azure's Well-Architected Framework, and a working knowledge of basic scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bicep, or ARM templates) to support automation and scalable deployments.
  • Proficiency with Everyday AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or other generative AI assistants to streamline tasks, draft communications, and improve efficiency.

Salary: $100k-$140k (Depending on qualifications)
