Harpers Rest is a hands-on project making high-end Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Russian River Valley through meticulous, conscientious implementation of regenerative organic farming methods. Our team is seeking a seasonal collaborator for the 2025 harvest who will help with all aspects of vinification in the cellar. The estate winery facility is located outside Healdsburg, CA on Westside Road. Our team is excited to inaugurate the state-of-the-art cellar we recently moved into, and a successful candidate will have experience with high levels of solo responsibility, as well as a team mentality. There will be three full time members of the winemaking squad, and we will be co-producing the 2025 vintage with another high-end Russian River Valley winery, so there will be opportunities for cross-pollination and membership in a tight wine community. About the vineyards: Moon Dust was first planted to Chardonnay in 1996, and Pinot Noir followed in 2007. This sandy soiled site keeps cool during the growing season in the Sebastopol Hills. There are 6 clones of Pinot Noir and 2 clones of Chardonnay, giving our winemaking team a diversity of material to vinify separately. Moon Dust is a certified organic regenerative vineyard. Harper's Rest sits on hallowed ground for Pinot and Chardonnay – a few hundred yards from the Russian River itself, this picturesque estate hosts 4 planted blocks of vines, the winery building, groves of ancient oak trees, and multiple hospitality spaces. There is a diversity of clones and aspects throughout the vineyard. We are converting this location to regenerative organic certification. About the winemaking: Our team is committed to low intervention, yet meticulous winemaking. Each of us has a passion for the tradition and craft of winemaking and a deep respect for the integrity of the fruit itself. To accomplish this low intervention vision, we will keep things very clean. Duties and responsibilities include some of the items in this list, but we are a tiny team, so you will be exposed to all aspects of harvest winemaking.

• Fruit processing and sorting
• Cap management (pumpovers/punchdowns)
• Fermentation monitoring
• Barrel work (filling, racking, topping, moving, cleaning)
• Tank and equipment cleaning/sanitation
• General cleaning and sanitation
• Dig-outs and cellar clean-up

Qualifications:

• Experience and an interest/passion in high end wine and wine making. We are looking for someone genuinely inquisitive.
• Knowledge of the winemaking process (priority given to those who have worked a harvest before)
• Able to communicate effectively in English
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Positive, can-do attitude with a strong work ethic
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks
• Comfortable working in wet, slippery, dark, or confined spaces
• Willingness to work long hours, including weekends
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
• Able to work independently and as part of a team

What we offer: Competitive wage depending on experience ($22-$26/hour). Team lunches are provided a few times a week; snacks and beverages kept stocked. Team tastings, dinners, joviality, etc etc...
