Education Program Senior Specialist in The Ohio State University, Department of Spanish and Portuguese, Columbus, Ohio. Duties: teaching of Spanish courses; collaborate with and support Spanish language program team and instructors; develop course materials for in-class and online instruction; assist with instructional technology and coordination of language program testing; plan and lead technology training sessions for language program instructors; serve as liaison for the university language testing center by coordinating testing dates and ensuring appropriate test access for students; direct, administer and grade Spanish verification exams and examination mark tests; attend departmental meetings and planning meetings for curriculum, testing, technology, and related topics. Requirements: Master’s degree in Spanish, Romance Languages, World Language, Linguistics, or related field; native or near native proficiency in Spanish; 48 months of experience in university-level Spanish instruction, and/or a combination of experience in instruction and administrative work; knowledge of American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) standards; requires successful completion of a background check.
