Job Description - Director, Organizational Development (250001CS) Job Description The Director of Organizational Development (OD) will be a strategic leader responsible for overseeing a team of OD consultants, as well as the recognition and events team, within the Learning & Development department. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Learning and Development and is integral in fostering a positive organizational culture, improving leadership capabilities, and enhancing overall employee engagement. This includes providing oversight for new team member onboarding, leader training for new, emerging and effective leaders, performance management, and numerous workforce engagement surveys. The Director of OD will be responsible for driving organizational effectiveness, creating innovative learning solutions, and supporting the professional growth and recognition of employees across the academic health system. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Lead and manage the Organizational Development (OD) team, including OD consultants and recognition and events staff, ensuring alignment with the health system's goals and objectives. Organizational Effectiveness: Design and implement strategies that enhance organizational performance, including leadership development, talent management, and employee engagement initiatives. Employee Recognition Programs: Oversee the development and execution of employee recognition programs that drive morale, retention, and engagement, ensuring alignment with organizational values and goals. Leadership Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to create and implement leadership development programs that build the skills and capabilities of current and future leaders across the health system. Event Planning and Execution: Guide the planning and execution of large-scale organizational events, including Leadership Forum, Team Member Communication Forums, monthly birthday celebrations, quarterly recognition events, and annual service award ceremonies, to ensure high-quality experiences for participants. Consultative Support: Provide consultative support to senior leaders, managers, and teams on OD-related matters, including team dynamics, conflict resolution, and employee engagement strategies. Performance Metrics and Reporting: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to organizational development, employee engagement, and recognition program effectiveness, providing regular reports to senior leadership. Collaboration within People & Talent: Partner with People & Talent and other departments to ensure alignment between OD strategies and People & Talent initiatives, including talent acquisition, performance management, and workforce planning. Qualifications Master's degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience required; five (5) of those years within Organizational Development management. Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Expert knowledge of OD concepts, frameworks, and methodologies. Knowledge of performance management systems, learning and development strategies, and talent management. Familiarity with tools and techniques for assessing organizational readiness, overcoming resistance, and promoting sustained change. Knowledge of leadership models and strategies for developing leadership at all levels. Knowledge of the necessary skills and competencies needed for effective leaders in various organizational settings. Ability to align OD initiatives with the organizational goals and strategy. Proficiency in analyzing organizational performance data, engagement surveys, and other relevant metrics. In-depth knowledge of employee engagement strategies and how they affect organizational performance and culture. Knowledge of employee engagement surveys and strategy.
